The DC Motor Principle and How it works? Video

An educational video regarding the DC Motor Principle and video demonstration illustrates How it works?

DC Motor Principle 1
An educational video regarding the DC Motor Principle

DC motors - how is it made? How it works?
In this video, i break apart DC motor model and then i rebuilt it from a scratch, to explain how a DC motor is made. This video is part of the theory "How DC Motors Work.

DC Motor
A direct current (DC) motor is a fairly simple electric motor that uses electricity and a magnetic field to produce torque, which turns the motor. At its most simple, a DC motor requires two magnets of opposite polarity and an electric coil, which acts as an electromagnet. The repellent and attractive electromagnetic forces of the magnets provide the torque that causes the DC motor to turn.
If you've ever played with magnets, you know that they are polarized, with a positive and a negative side. The attraction between opposite poles and the repulsion of similar poles can easily be felt, even with relatively weak magnets. A DC motor uses these properties to convert electricity into motion. As the magnets within the DC motor attract and repel one another, the motor turns.
A DC motor requires at least one electromagnet. This electromagnet switches the current flow as the motor turns, changing its polarity to keep the motor running. The other magnet or magnets can either be permanent magnets or other electromagnets. Often, the electromagnet is located in the center of the motor and turns within the permanent magnets, but this arrangement is not necessary.
To imagine a simple DC motor, think of a wheel divided into two halves between two magnets. The wheel of the DC motor in this example is the electromagnet. The two outer magnets are permanent, one positive and one negative. For this example, let us assume that the left magnet is negatively charged and the right magnet is positively charged. Electrical current is supplied to the coils of wire on the wheel within the DC motor. This electrical current causes a magnetic force. To make the DC motor turn, the wheel must have be negatively charged on the side with the negative permanent magnet and positively charged on the side with the permanent positive magnet. Because like charges repel and opposite charges attract, the wheel will turn so that its negative side rolls around to the right, where the positive permanent magnet is, and the wheel's positive side will roll to the left, where the negative permanent magnet is. The magnetic force causes the wheel to turn, and this motion can be used to do work.
When the sides of the wheel reach the place of strongest attraction, the electric current is switched, making the wheel change polarity. The side that was positive becomes negative, and the side that was negative becomes positive.
The magnetic forces are out of alignment again, and the wheel keeps rotating. As the DC motor spins, it continually changes the flow of electricity to the inner wheel, so the magnetic forces continue to cause the wheel to rotate.
DC motors are used for a variety of purposes, including electric razors, electric car windows, and remote control cars. The simple design and reliability of a DC motor makes it a good choice for many different uses, as well as a fascinating way to study the effects of magnetic fields

AC Electronic Motors
AC electronic motorsAC electronic motors are synchronous motors based on the principle of frequency control with self-timing. The essence of the principle is to control the stator's magnetic field vector according to the rotor position.Such motors are sometimes called commutatorless DC motors as the controller of such motor is usually powered from DC voltage while its rotor speed depends on supply voltage. So we can see that such motor works as a direct current motor. Its design is similar to that of AC synchronous motor. Its magnetic rotor rotates in a stator with a three-phase winding. Supply voltage of the motor windings is formed in accordance with the rotor position.A commutator is used in DC motors for this purpose while AC electronic motors have a semiconductive commutator for that. The motor has the following operating principle. The controller commutates stator windings so that the stator's magnetic field vector is always perpendicular to the rotor's magnetic field vector.By using pulse-duration modulation the controller regulates current which flows through the windings. That means it regulates the stator's magnetic field vector and thus the moment affecting the rotor. The sign at the angle between the vectors determines direction of the moment affecting the rotor. Such motors were designed to improve properties of DC motors. Their main advantage is that they don't have rotary contacts. This significantly increases their lifespan. Such types of motors find various applications - from house appliances to rail transport.

Data, and Video Camshaft position sensor Work

How do the Camshaft position sensor Work?
Since the Crankshaft Position Sensor's Signal triggers the Ignition Module (or Fuel Injection Computer) to start switching the Ignition Coil's Primary Current ground path On and Off... I usually refer to the sensor's signal as the Triggering Signal. Since the Crank Sensor (or Cam Sensor) is the one producing this Triggering Signal, I refer to it as the Triggering Device.

TURBOCHARGER DATA AND VIDEO ANIMATION

TURBOCHARGER OPERATION
The turbocharger compresses intake air to a density
up to four times that of atmospheric pressure. This
greater amount of dense air allows more fuel to be
burned, thereby doubling the engine’s power output.
The turbocharger also reduces exhaust emissions
and exhaust noise. It compensates for the less dense
air encountered in higher altitude operation
"A naturally aspirated engine has a limited supply
of air for combustion. The air has only atmospheric
pressure pushing it into the cylinders. A turbocharger
provides pressurized air, which allows for
more air to be packed into a cylinder for each firing.
This provides more power and much better combustion
efficiency. Thus, more power is realized from a
given engine size, fuel economies improve, and emissions
are reduced.

INDUCTION, EXHAUST, AND TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM PRINCIPLES
On a naturally aspirated four-stroke-cycle engine,
the system includes the air cleaner, a precleaner (if
used), the intake manifold, and the connecting tubing
and pipes (Figure 3–1). On the two-strokecycle,
the system also includes a blower for scavenging
air and for combustion.
On a turbocharged engine, additional air is supplied
by means of a turbocharger, which is exhaust
gas–driven (Figure 3–2). On a supercharged engine
a mechanically driven blower is used to supply additional
air.

Fuel Injector Data and Fuel Injector Video

BASIC PRINCIPLES FUEL INJECTION
The heart of the fuel injection system is the
control unit, a small electronic ""computer.""
Various sensors transmit information to the
control unit concerning air temperature, engine
temperature, engine speed, and engine load. The
control unit uses this information to determine
the exact amount of fuel to be distributed to the
cylinders.

Fuel System

Figure 5 is a simplified drawing of the fuel
system. The fuel pump draws fuel from the
front-mounted fuel tank through a filter and delivers
it to 4 injectors. A pressure regulator on the return
line maintains fuel pressure at 28 psi. Excess fuel
from the regulator returns to the fuel tank.
The control unit controls the fuel pump through
a relay, not shown in Figure 1 or Figure 4. When
the ignition switch is turned on

Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system

General information
From the 1990 model year, an Electronic
Fuel Injection (EFI) system controlled by the
Electronic Engine Control IV (EEC IV) system,
and incorporating an Electronic
Distributorless Ignition system (E-DIS 4) is
used on all 1.6 litre fuel injection models. The
system is designed to meet the requirements
of the European 15.04 exhaust emission
control laws.
Those components more easily related to
the ignition system are described in Chapter
5, Part B. Those relating to the fuel system are
described in this Section.
The engine management and fuel systems
are best described by dividing them into two
separate sub-systems the air inlet system,
and the fuel system.

VEHICLE SPEED SENSORS DATA

VEHICLE SPEED SENSORS

Basically, the VSS tells the ECM how fast the vehicle is going. Most people think the VSS is only used for the lock-up
torque converter. The VSS is also used to control the EGR valve, the charcoal canister purge valve, the electric cooling
fans, idle speed, and air/fuel ratio. This is all explained in the Chevrolet shop manual (available from Helm at
(800)782-4356), which is required reading for installing the TPI/TBI engine into your vehicle.

VEHICLE SPEED SENSORS ( VSS) WIRE
Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
In addition to the standard power and ground leads, many car navigation
systems connect to a vehicle's Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) wire. The VSS wire
is used by the vehicle's cruise control to determine the vehicle's speed - it serves
the same function for the car navigation system. The VSS wire sends a series of
pulses, anywhere from 800 to just over 1,000 per mile, and sends these pulses
only when the car is in motion. If the VSS wire is not hooked up, then the unit will
not realize that the car is moving at all, and will be unable to track position.

The photos and information I provide were gathered from a 2005 KIA Sorento.
Color codes of wires should be the same for all years but I give no guarantee. If
someone finds a difference let me know and we will change the DIY to
accommodate the difference.

Output Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The No. 2 vehicle speed sensor detects the rotation speed of the transmission output shaft and sends signals
to the ECM. The ECM determines the vehicle speed, based on these signals. An AC voltage is generated
in the No. 2 vehicle speed sensor coil as the rotor mounted on the output shaft rotates, and this voltage
is sent to the ECM. The gear shift point and lock–up timing are controlled by the ECM, based on the signals
from this vehicle speed sensor and the throttle position sensor. If the No. 2 vehicle speed sensor malfunctions,
the ECM uses input signals from the No. 1 vehicle speed sensor as a back–up signal.
